Allison Krier, Founder | Editorial Director

Allison’s passion for the arts has manifested with cultural organizations, in academia, and as a creator. This journey has spanned living in three cities: Washington, D.C., Chicago and New York. She completed her MA in design history from Parsons in conjunction with the Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum.  Since then she has been an editorial contributor with MODERN and the Magazine ANTIQUES, has written for Artlog.com, and the Bloomsbury Press. Currently, Allison teaches design history at Philadelphia University for the MA in Interior Architecture program. Previously she was a Instructor and Teaching Fellow for undergraduate and graduate courses on design history topics at Parsons, and prior to her graduate studies she was the Public Programs Coordinator for the Chicago Architecture Foundation where she managed numerous lecture programs and exhibitions. Allison also studied painting and drawing at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago.

Savannah Lamb is from Great Barrington, Massachusetts and currently lives in New York City. She graduated from Bard College at Simon’s Rock in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Literary Studies and French. 

Josh Mongeau earned a BFA from Pratt Institute majoring in Advertising / Art Direction in the Communications Design Department. As an avid drawer he always travels with a small black sketchbook and viewing the world and thinking through drawing. He has collaborated and worked with advertising agencies and businesses worldwide providing his expertise in graphic design with both print and digital. Beatrice Thornton is a native of northern California, Thornton moved to New York in 2005 for college and now lives in Brooklyn. She is a writer and researcher on twentieth-century art, design, and photography, and recently completed an MA in decorative arts, design history, and material culture at the Bard Graduate Center. Her primary research examined the work of the Belgian-American artist Jan Yoors’s process for designing monumental tapestries, many of which he based on abstract, documentary photographs. Thornton also holds a BA in art history and French from New York University. She has published on art, design, and photography for artnet.com magazine, Art+Auction, MODERN, TheMagazineANTIQUES.com, and Art in America. She has also worked for artist estates, including those of Louise Bourgeois and Jan Yoors.  Her interest in travel and the world’s cultures have taken her around the globe to Beijing, Istanbul, throughout Europe, and the United States, and she is always planning adventures somewhere.

Daniel Smyth is based out of New York City. He earned his MA in Critical Theory & the Arts at The School of Visual Arts and is currently working on a set of short stories.

Michael Wiener

Michael has written substantially for New York City and national magazines, newspapers and blogs, as cultural critic and profile scribe, especially in the 90s, and recently contributed an autobiographical essay to the anthology Jews: A Peoples' History of the Lower East Side. As actor, films have won awards and acclaim at Sundance, Tribeca as well as international festivals, including Comic Con Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy for Stingray Sam. Appearances as an actor, monologist and performer include an array of theaters, museums, clubs and beyond, downtown, Midtown and up and down Northeast corridor such as Soho Repertory, New York Theater Workshop, Armory Show, MoMA PS1, The Kitchen, Brooklyn Museum, Whitney Museum, St. Ann’s Warehouse, HERE, Ohio Theater, Ace Hotel, Monkeytown, 92Y, New Dramatists, and more. Recent collaborations include playwright Sibyl Kempson, artist Liz Magic Laser, novelist/director John Reed and band The Children, alongside members of Swans and Cop Shoot Cop, contributing songs to Berlin Film Festival winning burlesque documentary Exposed. Michael has also produced performance series at Gershwin Hotel, Dixon Place, KGB Red Room and others for last 15 years.
